Things to Know About Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis, known as an inflammatory skin disease, usually begins in infancy and early childhood. This disease is caused by genetic factors or triggered by some allergens, can even recur throughout life, and has been increasing in recent years.

According to dermatologists, there are three types of atopy called "dermatitis";
• Atopic dermatitis (Atopic eczema)
• Irritant contact dermatitis (Irritant eczema)
• Allergic Contact Dermatitis (Allergic Eczema)

The most important symptoms of Atopic dermatitis include skin dryness and intense itching, as well as sleep disturbance and fatigue.

In infants and young children, symptoms are more common on the face, elbows, and inner knees. In older children/adolescents and adults, it usually manifests itself on the hands, neck, inner surface of the elbows, back of the knees, and ankles. The best way to control this dermatological problem, which manifests itself as dry, red, dandruff, or oozing lesions, is to apply the treatment arranged by a doctor and to benefit from the right dermo-cosmetic products to support this treatment.

Since the disease is chronic and prone to relapse, it is necessary to pay attention to issues such as avoiding stress, proper nutrition, and being selective in the use of products for skin health and beauty. Research shows that odorless and colorless moisturizers with the right content should be used every day to prevent skin dryness.

It is extremely important to contact the institutions and organizations working in this field to receive help and improve the quality of life with atopic dermatitis.
